Public Art In Dania Beach

I was very honored when the city of Dania Beach considered my art work to be a part of the initiative to wrap the call boxes located throughout the city. A painting of Thiesel the alligator, a character from the Fairy Tale Project Trilogy was selected to be featured.

Stir It Up

Last week was the opening reception for the new show at Studio 18. Despite the rain it was a wonderful evening.

This exhibition is really exciting because it was a chance for me to experiment with something new. I created an installation of sketches that were executed over the past 30 years. Drawing from my imagination, these doodles give an insight into my life and how I have grown as an artist.

The power to experiment…

There are always valuable lessons to be learned when an artist experiment’s. As artists we are always evolving, taking risks is a vital part of the growing process. In this particular case I decided to not only exhibit my sketches which have never been seen, but also to display them in a unusual manner, hanging from wire with a twist. Is this experiment a success? I guess time will tell.

Thank You to Studio 18 in The Pines and to Robyn Vegas who curated the show!

The exhibition will hang until May 30, a Studio Salon will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. All the artists will have a chance to speak about their works.

“Imagination Stirred”
An Installation of Drawings by Jacklyn Laflamme

Sketching is a way of life for me, I doodle at every opportunity. Whenever I have an idle moment, there is usually a pencil, pen or marker in hand and without thinking too much I release my imagination to the paper.

This installation is an insight into my imagination thru a series of drawings exhibited with a twist!
